Volunteers
Volunteers are the heart and soul
of our organization. Our efforts
continue to succeed and to grow due to the hard work put forth by the many
caring individuals who donate their time, energy and love to the hundreds of
cats we help each year.
We need people to help with the
following:
- Feeding out at the feral colonies. It takes about 20 minutes of your
time. You can volunteer for
one or more days a week.
- Fostering our cats and kittens while they wait
to find their forever homes.
We have different situations for fostering as follows:
a) Short
term, the friendly kittens and cats that will go quickly, because most people
want to adopt them first.
b) Long Term,
for the more difficult cats and kittens that may be more afraid and need more
time to trust us or:
c) Cats and
kittens with special needs because we have to find the right homes where people
are not afraid to take them and love them even though they have issues.
- Tasha’s Place. It’s not a shelter. It’s a special foster home where we have cats that have
ended up with us and may be too scared to be adopted yet. What they need is more time to
become more acclimated before they can go to a foster home and then to
adoption. We need volunteers
to come and help care for them and play with them or brush them. We also need volunteers to help
with laundry and cleaning in this home.
- Drivers to drop off and pick up kitties from the
area veterinarian offices, or pick up food and get it to some of our
larger foster homes or colony feeders.
- Database experts to help us track all our work
so that we can apply for grants.
- Grant writers to take all the information and do
the applications.
- Website people to help us maintain this and our
Petfinder website.
